If the finals are ‘war’, then the last two rounds of the home and away season are a ‘cold war’ for the top eight. Hawthorn must beat West Coast to bolster their chances of hosting a home game in the first week of finals and optimally place them for a stab at the fourgasm. For West Coast, a victory over the Hawks would strengthen their belief that they’re a genuine contender. A loss, however, would be a huge psychological blow and could render their finals aspirations a moot point. Huge. Game. Go Hawks!

After a three-week hiatus the boys return with the lates… t. Regulatory wins against Richmond and Carlton gave way to a loss against a firing Melbourne leaving the Hawks just one game clear of the next 4 teams and at least 20 percentage points behind them. Every game is a must win now as the Hawks line up for what is expected to be another tough – possibly bitter – encounter with North. Bring it on. Go Hawks!

Hawthorn post a solid if not stylish win against Port, extending their winning streak since their Round 9 loss too... Sydney. It will be a psychologically different team flying up to Sydney in Round 17, keen to make amends for the last time these two teams met. But Sydney won’t take this game lying down and are in great form themselves having easily disposed of Geelong the week before. A top 2 finish is on the line this week in what is classic setup to what could very be a classic home and away season contest. Go Hawks!
